Enabling PTZ support
Support can be enabled for an organization on the settings page:
Native Camera Configuration
PTZ uses ONVIF standard protocols to control the cameras. Enabling and configuring ONVIF differs per vendor.
Axis
ONVIF is disabled by default. ONVIF users are separate from web users. The ONVIF user must have "Administrator” level access. Access this setting by clicking "Settings" > System > ONVIF
Dahua
ONVIF is enabled by default. The default admin user can be used for ONVIF. No setup required.
Hanwha
ONVIF is enabled by default. ONVIF users are separate from the admin user. Use the "Default" profile when creating the ONVIF user.
Hikvision
ONVIF is disabled by default. ONVIF users are separate from web users. The ONVIF user must have “Operator” or “Administrator” level access.
Configuration
After enabling PTZ support for an organization, supported vendor cameras will allow for the configuration of ONVIF credentials during camera setup:
Note: ONVIF credentials are not verified during configuration. Incorrect credentials will appear as errors in the console during use in the Live Player. Some vendors will lock access after too many failed log in attempts.
Use
Just point and click!
Note: PTZ functionality is not supported on the mobile app. Additionally, only one user may access the PTZ controls on each camera at one time.
