SpotCast turns any screen into a video wall, meaning you have more ways to actively view your camera footage without the need for a mouse and keyboard.
SpotCast allows you to dedicate a screen to your walls without logging in and out of the dashboard. This means if you like the traditional screens to view video footage for security purposes, Spot enables you to have this functionality in a modern format via SpotCast.
Getting Started
1.) To get started, set up a Kiosk
You have two options:
Option A: Connect a screen to the Spot AI Appliance
Connect a DisplayPort cable directly from your Spot appliance to a screen. This will allow you to supervise your video walls on the chosen screen. Please note, our appliances can only support a single monitor connection at a time.
Important: Ensure the DisplayPort is connected into the appliance port and not the GPU port on the back of the device. See the picture below for reference:
OR
Option B: Online Access
Access SpotCast Kiosk on any internet-connected display device, such as a Smart TV, tablet, office monitor, laptop, etc.-- any screen or display with an internet connection!
Once a Kiosk option is chosen:
i. A unique kiosk code will be generated on the screen.
ii. Go to the Spot Dashboard on your usual computer or laptop (doesn't have to be the same device as the Kiosk) and go to 'Walls'.
iii. Open the Wall that should be displayed on the SpotCast Kiosk.
iv. Select 'SpotCast' > Click 'Add Kiosk' > Enter the unique kiosk code
v.) Click "Add Kiosk". You've officially registered the screen, meaning you can now select which wall you'd like to view on it!
vi.) Click on the SpotCast button to enable the SpotCast to cto the scrast een or display that you are using.
If you wish to change which wall you display, select the desired wall, click SpotCast, and then select the appropriate "kiosk" on which you wish to display the wall.
Note: The Kiosk code is stored in the browser via a cookie. If the cookie is cleared from the browser, that will break the Kiosk link to the Dashboard. The only way to re-link the Kiosk is by setting it up as a new SpotCast Kiosk again.
