With increasing camera counts, customers often don't remember which camera name belongs to which part of the building. Maps allow you to upload a site plan or input an address on Google Maps to pin your cameras on this map for an intuitive visual coverage of your sites.
Add A Map
Click on the map icon, select a specific camera group or location that you want to add a map to and then select the button "Set Up Location." You can add a site map or enter an address to generate a Google Map. Zoom in and crop as needed. You can add as many layouts as you like to split camera maps into different views: by floor, by external vs. internal-- however you see fit.
The video below demonstrates how to add, rotate, change a sitemap to black and white if desired. Then you can name the map and start to add cameras.
Adding Cameras
Adding cameras is as easy as clicking on "add cameras" and then:
(i) drag the camera icon to the correct place on the map.
(ii) rotate the camera field of view to match the direction the camera is pointed towards
(iii) select the correct camera from the unassigned cameras list.
Viewing Cameras on Maps
When all cameras are on the map, simply hover your mouse across a camera to get a snapshot of that camera view. To get a larger view of that camera's footage, click on the camera. You will be taken to the view page of that camera and footage will start playing.
