Zone-based motion search is a simple but powerful tool that you can use to easily find location-based incidents. Motion events that occurred within a selected "zone" will show up on the timeline as a magenta line, making it easy to find car break-ins, package room thefts, and much more! Let's get started.
First, from your Search page, click on the camera youβre interested in on the right. Then, scroll down beneath the timeline and click the slider next to Zone-based motion filter to turn it on.
Once you click that, you will be able to draw a shape on your camera feed by clicking where you want the points around the area you're interested in, then click Apply.

Now, every time motion was detected in this part of the camera, it will be highlighted in magenta on the timeline and will be displayed in the search by segments section. You can click and drag the green brackets to extend or shorten the clip as you prefer and click and drag the whole segment to go to another section with zone-based motion.
Congratulations, you've just set up a zone-based motion search on Spot! π
