Thanks for signing up for your Spot AI trial. We are excited to have you onboard! Here’s what you can expect during the trial:
Before the Activation Call
What we do:
- Ship out the trial equipment to your site (IVR and Cameras)
- Send email(s) to the admin(s) to create your dashboard access
- Set up Trial Activation call with you and our technical experts ←- you are here
What we need from you:
Network Setup
Prep your network - we’re flexible, but here are examples of network topologies
- Create any VLAN(s) required or identify which subnet(s) the IVR and cameras will connect to
- Configure the firewall to allow the IVR outbound internet access if not already allowed (cameras don’t need internet access)
- Make sure the IVRs and cameras can get IP addresses - DHCP makes your life easier, but you can assign static IP addresses manually
- Confirm you have enough open PoE switch ports if adding new IP cameras
Camera Info
IP Cameras directly connected to a PoE switch
- Confirm you have the camera username/passwords and check that they're online and working
IP Cameras plugged into an NVR - 2 options:
Option 1 - the NVR supports RTSP
- Leave the cameras as-is. Confirm you have the username/password for the NVR and the RTSP url
Option 2 - the NVR does not support RTSP
- Move the cameras from the NVR into a PoE switch.
- If the cameras are statically addressed, work with your Network Administrator to reassign them appropriately
- Confirm you have the username/password for the cameras
- Confirm you have the RTSP URL for the cameras
Analog Cameras connected to a DVR
- Confirm the DVR is on your network and you have the username/password. 10 bonus points if you can find the RTSP URL for the video streams
Physical Install
There are 2 network ports on the IVR that can be used interchangeably. Most people only need to use one port. The second can be used if you have a more complicated environment (such as an air-gapped camera network).
- Unbox the IVR and connect it to power and network
- Connect any new camera(s) to your PoE switch(s) using a cat5e/cat6 cable
During the Activation Call
What we do:
- Meet our customer success and sales engineering team
- Ensure you have a login to the Spot AI dashboard
- Help finish any outstanding installation steps, answer any questions
- Cloud dashboard walkthrough, help download mobile app.
- Discuss technical success criteria for trial (ease of use, compatibility, compliance requirements, timeline to test, etc.)
What you do:
- Create new location(s) and register your appliance(s)
- Add cameras
- Verify that you can view Live feeds
- Agree to technical success criteria for trial
After the Activation Call
What we do:
- Schedule periodic check-ins to ensure things are running smoothly
- Answer any questions you have during the trial
- Ensure we are delivering to the technical success criteria
What you do:
- Use the Spot AI Dashboard and prepare any questions for your upcoming training session
- Add any additional users and invite them to the training session
- Ensure we are delivering to the technical success criteria
